How we make money
AI Rankings is free for readers, and the ranking is independent: no company pays to get in, move up or stay in it. Today we don't sell ads, highlights or templates. This page explains how we plan to sustain the site and the rules that will keep any revenue separate from the editorial content.
Where revenue will come from
Ad formats (coming soon)
In the future, companies will be able to pay for formats such as a highlight card or a block in the newsletter. None of them is for sale today. When they exist, every paid placement will carry the "Sponsored" label above the fold, stay outside the numbered ranking and never change the editorial position of any tool.
Affiliate links
A tool page may have a "Visit" button with an affiliate link: if you buy a plan through it, the company may pay us a commission and your price is the same. The ranking is computed before we check whether an affiliate program exists, so having a link or not never moves a tool up, down or keeps it in place. Every affiliate link is flagged next to the button and carries rel="sponsored nofollow" for search engines. The list below shows whether any is active today.
Templates (coming soon)
We're preparing ready-to-use agent and automation templates; they're not for sale yet. When they open, they'll be a separate product: buying a template or not will never change the tool ranking.
Editorial rules (R1 to R8)
These are the rules that make sure no payment, now or in the future, touches the ranking:
R1The editorial ranking is not for sale
No payment buys, raises, keeps or protects a position. Positions come only from the published criteria, and payment data is kept apart from editorial data.
R2When there is paid placement, it is labeled "Sponsored"
When they exist, paid cards, the sponsors bar and paid newsletter blocks will show "Sponsored" at first sight, with no scrolling or clicking needed.
R3Featured spots stay outside the numbered list
A sponsored card appears above or beside the ranking, with a different background and no position number. It's never inserted between numbered positions.
R4Paying doesn't protect from demotion
If a sponsor gets worse on price, quality or safety, its editorial position drops as usual.
R5Affiliate links don't change positions
The ranking is set before we check whether an affiliate program exists. The #1 tool without an affiliate program stays #1, and every affiliate link is flagged next to the button.
R6Free submission always exists
Any tool can ask to join the catalog for free through the contact e-mail. When paid formats exist, they will only buy faster review and labeled visibility.
R7Public transparency
These rules are published on the site; when there are paid formats and active affiliate programs, they will be published too.
R8Refusal
We don't accept sponsorship from tools with signs of fraud, abusive data collection or that generate illegal content. The final decision is always made by a person.
Affiliate programs
No affiliate link is active right now: every "Visit" button goes to the official site, with no tracking parameter.
These are the programs we intend to use once sign-ups are complete. Joining each one is a contract, decided case by case; until then, nothing changes for readers:
